Volunteers needed for STEM mentoring opportunities

Wichita State’s STEMpact2020 has opportunities available for individuals interested in mentoring in the areas of science, technology, engineering and math including:

• Mentor middle school students learning engineering (PLTW) at All Saints Catholic School, Sign up here
• Help Andover middle schoolers design a water filtration system for a school in Nairobi, Kenya, Sign up here
• Mentor students at West High in the Engineering/Manufacturing Academy, Sign up here

With the need in interest of in applied science and mathematics, Wichita State has developed a program to spark the interest of today’s youth. STEMpact2020 is a program designed to help youth develop their skills in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Many STEM professionals see public service as a normal part of their job. This mentoring program relies heavily on the active network of all STEM workers, educators and enthusiasts. Their mission is to proactively engage the STEM workforce and provide opportunities for professionals to better connect with the community of Wichita by creating quality, high impact STEM mentoring relationships with underrepresented youth.
