Manish Shinde, a Wichita State University doctoral student and research engineer for the National Institute for Aviation Research recently received a $1,500 scholarship from the National Association for Surface Finishing (NASF) Education Foundation.
Shinde won based on his research in plating and surface finishing science and engineering, his academic record, personal statement, work experience and extracurricular activities.
“I am so pleased to receive this scholarship,” said Shinde. “The NASF only awards two recipients each year, so this is gratifying recognition for the work I’ve put in this year.”
Shinde, who works in the Advanced Coatings lab and is completing his Ph.D. in mechanical engineering, will use the funding to support polymer anatomy research and potential new product development.
