The SAMPE Wichita Chapter invites members and guests to attend a presentation on 3D Nanostructured Materials for High-Performance Nanocomposites by Wichita State University Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering Davood Askari.
Summary: The discovery of nanomaterials with their exceptional properties and advancements of nanoscale technologies have created new opportunities for engineering of novel nanostructures, nanodevices, and systems. Because of their exceptional material properties and unique structural configurations, carbon nanostructures have been among the most interesting nanostructured materials ever introduced. Their potential application as additional reinforcements in polymeric composites has been successfully demonstrated in recent years. On the other hand, laminated composites suffer from the lack of reinforcements in thickness direction and in between the laminae.
